What Is REFLECT / REFRESH

A Marriage Journey Built on Truth and Grace

REFLECT/REFRESH is a Christian marriage intensive curriculum designed for couples who want more than a weekend away. It is a guided journey into the conversations most couples avoid and the connection most couples crave.

Rooted in Scripture and informed by licensed clinical practice, the intensive moves couples through four sessions across two days, addressing the way we communicate, the stories we tell ourselves, and the cross-shaped love that holds a marriage together.

Session 1

Communication — Life and Death

Words carry weight. This session opens an honest conversation about the power of language inside a marriage and what it means to give life with your words.

Session 2

Communication — A Marriage Story

The stories we tell about our marriages shape them. Couples examine the narratives they carry and learn to tell new, truer ones.

Session 3

Connection — Flesh of My Flesh

What does it mean to be truly known? This session invites couples into the kind of vulnerable, covenant connection God designed marriage to hold.

Session 4

Connection — Take Up Your Cross

The path to a thriving marriage runs through sacrifice. Couples explore what it looks like to lay down self and find each other on the other side.

The marriage intensive was excellent. I encourage it for any married couple. It was a wonderful learning experience based on biblical principles.

Brian brings over two decades of pastoral ministry and organizational leadership to every intensive. As Lead Pastor of City Light Church, a multiethnic congregation in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and President of Mission Mississippi, a statewide Christian nonprofit focused on building healthier relationships across divisions and racial reconciliation, Brian has spent his life helping people navigate hard conversations with honesty and grace. He is a fellow traveler, not a lecturer.

Candi Crawford, LPC, NCC

PhD Candidate

Candi is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with a clinical background that gives REFLECT/REFRESH its therapeutic depth. Her expertise in the dynamics of communication, trauma, emotional safety, and relational repair shapes every session. Candi creates environments where couples feel seen, heard, and safe enough to do the real work.

Together, Brian and Candi bring pastoral authority, organizational leadership, statewide ministry credibility, and licensed clinical expertise to every intensive, a combination that is rare, trusted, and distinctly equipped to walk alongside married couples.
